Music, poetry, photography, art. All of these mediums allow us to produce beautiful things. They represent the truth, or at least a version of it, no matter how distorted. You cannot lie when you produce something artistic, what you produce is a representation of what you feel.

Sometimes, it’s the ugliness that gives meaning, that gives purpose. When people experience art, they embrace the beautiful and disregard the ugly. These people are lying to themselves, hiding from what they really feel behind the beauty of a painting. When people represent truth, people fear it, people don’t want truth they want beauty. Embrace the ugliness in art, for it is just as true as the beautiful.
